May 2008Installation of 4 foot tree tubes on the Pin Oak trees will help protect the from deer feeding and provide rodent protection. Netting covering tops of the tubes will help prevent birds from getting trapped in tubes. The tubes will act as small greenhouses, improving growing conditions. Perforations in the tubes allow trees to go into natural dormancy in the fall as well as keeping temperatures from getting to hot in summer while protecting the trees from damaging winds.
